Fundraising for Good
Our Mission
Aishah’s Food Charity was born from a simple yet powerful idea: no one in Weston-super-Mare should go hungry. Since March 2022, and officially registered in October 2023, we’ve dedicated ourselves to providing 200 hot curry meals every Wednesday, addressing food insecurity with dignity, compassion, and a community spirit.
Our Story
Aishah Ahmed, a third-year law student at Bath Spa University, witnessed the impact of COVID‑19 and the cost-of-living crisis on families around her. With the support of her father, who runs Pappadoms takeaway and has been contributing to community initiatives since 1998, she started Aishah’s Food Charity to make a tangible difference.
“I asked my father to help me start a charity to help people with food. He cooks and provides me with the food to give to our local community.”
Out of humble beginnings, this charity has blossomed into a weekly lifeline, with 200 meals distributed each week, and a small supermarket collection network delivering fresh food to those who can’t reach the distribution hub
